Lucky Chimney Sweep (Small)

Lucky Chimney Sweep. Bronze sculpture on wooden base.

The story of this bronze chimney sweep is that in old days in Estonia when people saw a chimney sweep then they did all they could to touch the button on his coat. Chimney sweeps used to have golden buttons on their uniform. It was considered especially lucky if you could get the button for yourself, so often you could see chimney sweeps with some buttons missing! So this sculpture is in honour of all those men who not only climbed rooftops, but also brought luck to the people in the city.

There is also a monument of this Lucky Chimney Sweep in the Tallinn Old Town where people can still go and touch the buttons for good luck.

Mythology Collection

Many folklore stories have given birth to strong heroes who protected their people and were therefore honoured and admired by many. Most of us still remember them. In bronze they are cast into long-lasting reminders of strength, endurance, honour and love.
